Najma Adan
Clinical Intern

Najma is a clinical intern at Arubah Emotional Health Services who is passionate about supporting individuals from underrepresented
communities, particularly those impacted by stigma surrounding mental health and addiction.
As a second-generation immigrant who is bilingual in English and Somali, she brings cultural awareness and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by immigrants and refugees.
Having grown up in a community where mental health and addiction were often stigmatized, Najma is driven to create change and provide a space where individuals feel seen, heard, and supported. She is especially focused on working with teens and adults but remains open to supporting individuals of all ages.
Najma’s therapeutic approach is rooted in a person-centered foundation while integrating cognitive behavioral (CBT) and psychodynamic perspectives, with a focus on providing support, honest guidance, and meaningful connection. Her work is also influenced by faith-based values, and she welcomes conversations around religion and spirituality as part of the healing process.
Najma is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Faith Integration at Saint Mary’s University. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys yoga, staying active through pickleball, prioritizing self-care, and spending time with friends and family.
